Okay, she's here, three weeks earlier than we planned. Anna "Annie" Janie arrived on July 25th at 9:12am, 7 lbs 8 oz and 21 inches long. I ended up getting induced because of something called HELLP syndrome, which I'd barely heard of before this pregnancy and now know more about than I ever wanted to. Everyone is okay. I might write the full story in a future issue, because it was a lot, but for today I just want to introduce you to Annie.
Jamie is obsessed. Not curious, not cautiously interested, obsessed. He tried to hand her a matchbox car within the first hour of meeting her and has asked to hold her approximately four hundred times since. David has been running the house like a very tired, very competent stage manager, and I am upright thanks to an alarming amount of hospital chicken broth and coffee I didn't have to reheat.
So here's the deal: no events roundup this week, no radar, no rotating section. Sprout is taking next week off too while we get our footing as a family of four. I'll be back soon, but for now, meet Annie.
