#### **Thursday, March 19**

**Preschool Ballet Classes**
Free ballet class for preschoolers at Mallard Creek Rec Center. It's imaginative games and simple steps, not a recital track. And it's free, so if your kid hates it, you're out nothing but 45 minutes.

🕒 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM
👶 Best For: Preschoolers (ages 3–6)

👶 Best For: Toddlers (ages ~1–3)

**Newborn Class**
Sensory play, music, tummy time, and baby massage packed into 30 minutes. It's also just a really nice excuse to talk to other adults who are also running on no sleep.

📍The Bunny Hive Charlotte, 1207 East Blvd
🕒 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
👶 Best For: Newborns 0–4 months
💡 Parent Tip: 30 minutes is the perfect length when you're in the newborn fog. Easy to fit between feeds.

**Naturalist Egg Hunt at Wing Haven Gardens**
A guided egg hunt through the gardens at Wing Haven. Less frantic sprint, more walking and exploring with some nature learning mixed in. If your kid likes being outside more than competing for eggs, this is the one.
📍 Wing Haven Gardens & Bird Sanctuary
🕒 10:00 – 12:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: preschool through elementary
💡 Parent Tip: Wear shoes you can walk in. This covers more ground than a typical egg hunt.

🕒 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
👶 Best For: all ages

**Fable Bunny Party**
If you know Maileg, you know. Fable in Ballantyne is the only place in Charlotte to buy Maileg, and they're throwing their first-ever Bunny Party. Think of it as the bunny version of their Mouse Parties. Complimentary bunny ears at the door (while supplies last), a "Bunny Booth" photo op, treats, door prizes, and a swag bag with any Maileg purchase (one per family). A Maileg rep or two will also be there, which is a big deal if your kid (or, let's be honest, you) is deep in the Maileg world. It's an all-day pop-in, no set schedule.
📍 Fable, 14835 Ballantyne Village Way
🕒 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: Toddlers through elementary (and Maileg-obsessed parents)
💡 Parent Tip: Leave the stroller in the car. This store is packed wall to wall with merch and there is no room to navigate one. The swag bags are one per family with purchase, so plan accordingly.
Cost: Free to attend (swag bag with Maileg purchase)

**Donkey Meet & Greet at Anne Springs Close Greenway**
Exactly what it sounds like. Meet donkeys, learn about their care, pet some soft noses. Casual and outdoors. If you haven't been to the Crandall Bowles Children's Farm at Anne Springs yet, this is a great excuse to go. It's an 18-acre farm with alpacas, goats, horses, chickens, rabbits, a half-mile loop trail, and a playground. We took Jamie and he was in heaven. (Full review [here](https://www.thecharlottesprout.com/the-charlotte-sprout-blog/anne-springs-close-greenway)).
📍 Anne Springs Close Greenway
🕒 10:30 – 12:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: toddlers through elementary
💡 Parent Tip: The donkey event is 90 minutes, but budget a full morning. Between the Children's Farm animals, the Prairie Castle Playground, and the trails, you won't want to leave after just the donkeys.
Cost: Included with Greenway admission
[Learn More](https://www.ascgreenway.org/event/donkey-meet-greet-10/2026-03-21/)

**Camden Commons (South End)**

Cost: Free
[More Details](https://southendclt.org/events/camden-commons)

**Zeta’s Easter Egg Hunt**
Community egg hunt at West Charlotte High School. Lots of eggs, lots of space, lots of kids running at full speed. This one is more about the energy than the production value, and kids love it.

🕒 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: toddlers through elementary
💡 Parent Tip: Bring your own basket and mentally prepare. Egg hunts start fast and end in about 90 seconds.
Cost: Free

**Charlotte Youth Arts Festival**
Outdoor art festival in Matthews with performances, hands-on stations, and the kind of afternoon-in-the-park energy where a blanket and snacks go a long way.
📍 Stumptown Park, 120 S Trade St, Matthews
🕒 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: all ages
💡 Parent Tip: Think of it as an afternoon hang with art, not a structured event. Pack accordingly.

**Waxhaw Spring Festival**

🕒 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: all ages

Cost: Free

Free concert at Trinity Presbyterian on Providence Rd. Low-key, intimate setting. A nice option if you want to expose your kid to live music without the volume or crowd of a big event.
📍 Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Rd
🕒 3:00 p.m.
👶 Best For: Preschoolers
💡 Parent Tip: Sit near the aisle so you can duck out if your kid hits their limit.

##### **Sunday, March 22**

**Fairy Tale Weekend at Daniel Stowe Conservancy**

Pre-registration is requested but not required. Rain plan is indoors.
📍 Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd
🕒 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

A short guided art project with a new theme each month. Even if "art" at this age mostly means enthusiastic finger smudges, you'll walk out with something fridge-worthy.
📍The Bunny Hive, 1207 East Blvd
🕒 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM
👶 Best For: Prewalkers, toddlers, and preschoolers
💡 Parent Tip: Leave nut snacks at home and bring a backup outfit. The paint will find its way onto everything.
Cost: $30 drop-in, intro offers available

**Mini and Me Yoga**
Yoga with your kid. It's gentle, it's silly, and nobody cares if your toddler spends the whole class running laps instead of doing poses. Drop-in friendly, no commitment required.

📍Ballantyne Studio (Ignite Dance Productions), 5107 Piper Station Dr Unit C2
🕒10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
👶 Best For: Ages 4 months and up (child + caregiver)
💡 Parent Tip: Bring a mat and water. And low expectations for how much actual yoga happens.
Cost: $15 per class

Open gym time where parents and toddlers explore mats and equipment together. No instructor, no structure, just free play in a safe space.
📍Perfect Balance Training Center, 8850 Monroe Rd
🕒 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
👶 Best For: Toddlers and preschoolers
💡 Parent Tip: You're on the floor with them for this one. It's not a drop-off situation
Cost: ~$5–$6 per visit (drop-in)

**Little Learners**
A short nature activity for little ones at the Wildwoods area of Whitewater Center. The class itself is solid, but the real win is using it as an excuse to explore Wildwoods after.
📍Wildwoods at Whitewater Center
🕒 10:00 AM
👶 Best For: ages 1-5
💡 Parent Tip: Bring shoes they can get dirty. You'll end up in mud, guaranteed
Cost: $5/child, adults free (included with some passes)

**Baby Massage at The Bunny Hive**
If you are in that hazy newborn stretch where the days blur together, this is such a gentle way to get out of the house. Baby massage focuses on connection and calm, and it’s designed for little ones as young as two weeks old, with benefits that support sleep, digestion, and all the tiny discomforts that come with those early weeks. It’s truly one of the most peaceful classes they offer.
📍The Bunny Hive, 1207 East Blvd
🕒 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
👶 Best For: Newborns
💡 Parent Tip: Bring a soft swaddle blanket for your baby to lie on and plan to feed either right before or right after class so everyone stays relaxed. Leave nut snacks at home.
Cost: $30 drop-in, intro offers available
