When my son Jamie was born, I couldn't find local activities that were actually built for babies and toddlers. I'd spend hours scrolling event listings and parenting Facebook groups trying to find something simple: a park with shade, a music class that wasn't already full, a coffee shop where a stroller could actually fit through the door.
Out of that frustration, and a lot of nap time Googling, The Charlotte Sprout was born.
Every week I round up what's actually happening around Charlotte for families with young kids: events, kid-friendly restaurants, parks and playgrounds, plus honest reviews and the occasional lesson I'm still learning as a parent myself. I write this on nights and weekends around my full-time job, so everything in here is something I actually thought was worth your time, not filler to hit a schedule.
Jamie is now 2 and my daughter Annie joined us in July 2026, so you'll hear about both of them here. My husband David chimes in occasionally too, usually when there's a Father's Day issue to write.
