I Didn't Know Charlotte Had a Kids Furniture Store, and Now I'm Obsessed

I have lived in Charlotte for years. I have a toddler. I am currently furnishing a nursery for baby girl. And somehow, until last weekend, I had no idea Cozy Kids Furniture & More existed in Pineville. I feel like I should turn in my Charlotte mom card.

Cozy Kids is tucked at 11523-A Carolina Place Pkwy in Pineville, right behind Carolina Place Mall. It's an easy in-and-out if you're already running errands in that area, and there's plenty of parking right at the door, which matters a lot more than it used to now that I'm hauling a toddler and a growing belly through parking lots.

What's There

This is not a cute little boutique with three onesies and a candle. This is a full showroom. Nursery furniture in every style you can imagine, big kid beds, and I mean big kid beds, including bunk beds with actual slides built in. Strollers, car seats, wagons, the works.

The family has been in the furniture and bedding business for over 40 years, and it shows. Everything on the floor is ASTM certified, and a lot of it goes through extra voluntary testing beyond what's legally required, which is the kind of detail I want to know about before I put my kid in something.

Our Experience

We went in looking for a glider for the nursery and walked out having tried approximately nine of them, with Jamie climbing in and out of at least three floor models like they were personal jungle gyms. I told the staff my budget and what I actually needed the chair to do, and they steered me toward a completely different glider than the one I walked in wanting. It was the right call. Nobody rushed us. Nobody hovered either.

Then there's the bunk bed with the slide. There's a sign on it that says no playing, but when Jamie found it, one of the staff members let him go down it a few times as long as one of us was standing right there supervising. That is exactly the kind of judgment call that makes a store feel like it's actually run by people who like kids, not just people who sell to their parents. When it was time to leave, Jamie full on melted down about getting off that bed. Not a small whine, a real one. Staff did not bat an eye. Just gave us space and let us handle it.

The Details

Cozy Kids Furniture & More is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 1 to 5pm. They do offer delivery for a fee, but I ended up just picking my chair up myself later that week and it didn't cost me anything extra.

My tip: if you're picking up your own furniture, call ahead and ask when "the boys" are working. They're the ones who load everything into your car, and you want to time your pickup around their schedule instead of showing up and hoping someone's around to help you wrestle a glider into your trunk.
